There are a lot of different things that are a must have when it comes to cleaning business supplies. Here we are going to list some different items that you need to have, and others that will just make your job easier. On top of that, I will be supplying tips on how to save money and get the most for your dollar!

Safety Gear: Safety First!

Although this gear won’t clean anything, it will keep you clean and prevent illness and injury to you and your workers (which is great for avoiding liabilities). We highly recommend to have these items on hand just in case you run into a situation where you will need to use them.

  • Disposable Gloves
  • Thick rubber gloves
  • Filtered Face Mask
  • Rubber Apron
  • Knee Pads
  • Shoe Covers

These supplies will keep your hands clean, your air fresh, and your front body safe from harm. I recommend always wearing gloves, or almost always, and to wear the face mask when there is a lot of dust in the air and in the area you are working in.

Now we can get into the actual cleaning items that you will most likely need for just about every cleaning job you do, here it is..

General House Cleaning Supplies

These items you will need in all areas of the house, so we will just make one special group for these items that you will need for the entire house.

  • Broom (or equivalent)
  • Mop & Bucket (or equivalent)
  • Vacuum (For carpets and hard surfaces)
  • Extendible Duster
  • Spray Bottles
  • Scrub brush
  • Toothbrushes
  • Microfiber cloths
  • Sponges
  • All-purpose cleaner
  • Toilet Cleaning Supplies (toilet brush and a cleaner)
  • Tile and Grout Cleaner
  • Window / Glass Cleaner
  • Disinfectant
  • Wood Cleaner
  • White vinegar and Water
  • Baking soda
  • Window cleaner

Also, what is the best option for holding all of your cleaning business supplies? Well, I’ve found that a cleaning supply caddy is one of the best options. If you can, and need the space, get a large one with wheels. If you don’t need as much space or simply can’t fit it in your vehicle, I would recommend getting hand held ones for all of your cleaning supplies.

General Office Cleaning Supplies

Office cleaning is very similar to home cleaning, so this list is basically the same as the previous. The only thing that may be different is that you would want bigger items as offices tend to be bigger. For example; instead of a small broom you should probably get a larger one, same with a mop. Just remember this; offices tend to be bigger so prepare for that!

General Carpet Cleaning Supplies

If you plan to offer strictly carpet cleaning services, then you won’t really need much else than what is on this list. Here are the “must have’s” for any carpet cleaning company:

  • Carpet Cleaning Extracting Machine
  • Carpet Cleaning Wand
  • Carpet & Floor Dryers / Air Movers
  • Truck Mounts
  • Internal Jet Upholstery Tool
  • Stair Cleaning Tool
  • Upright Vacuum Cleaner
  • Carpet Grooming Rake
  • Multiple Corner Guards
  • Professional Spotting Kit
  • Furniture Protectors
  • Carpet Pre-spray

Saving Money

When starting out with your cleaning business, you probably won’t have unlimited funds. Even while you are growing, you’ll still want to save as much money as you can.

To save money while buying cleaning supplies, I highly recommend to buy as much as you can online. The internet is a place where you can find many deals on items, and there is literally everything you can think of for sale online.

Secondly, if you plan on staying in this business for the long haul (which you should be anyways!), then try to buy in bulk. We all know buying in bulk is typically cheaper, so if you can buy in bulk and buy online, I highly recommend that.

Always be on the lookout for new deals. New deals come up all the time, in real stores and online. So never give up looking for cheaper alternatives, you want to save as much money as you can while running your business.

Conclusion

With these products, you should be able to clean all around any home, business, and the like, all while being protected and safe. Remember to save money you should try buying in bulk. Although it will be more upfront, it will save you money overtime. If you can’t afford to buy in bulk, buy cheaper versions of the name-brand products you would typically use.
